Inside the Kiyan Medical Co., Ltd. Office — A Modern, Mobile Workflow

June 11th, 2025Blog

At Kiyan Medical Co., Ltd.’s office in Japan, our work environment blends efficiency, flexibility, and technology in a way that reflects how we operate as a global-facing company. My desk setup features two MacBook laptops — one dedicated to being my portable work machine for meetings, travel, and presentations, and the other serving as my main workstation in the office. With this dual-device approach, I can separate tasks for mobility and stability while ensuring seamless continuity between devices. The workspace also includes multiple external monitors, allowing me to keep documents, emails, and project dashboards open side-by-side for a more productive workflow.

Our operations are almost entirely cloud-based, which means that files, presentations, and even large-scale research data are always accessible from anywhere in the world. This approach removes the need to transfer files manually between devices and ensures that updates are instantly synchronized across the team. Whether I’m preparing investor presentations, managing internal documents, or collaborating on shared files, the cloud infrastructure allows us to work without interruption. Even video editing — often a task that demands significant hardware power — is handled entirely on these MacBooks, demonstrating just how far portable computing power has come. With the performance of the Apple M1 and M2 chips, we no longer require a dedicated high-spec workstation for most of our needs.

Interestingly, while our Kiyan Medical office manages a wide range of projects related to medical research and international business development, the cryptocurrency development side of our operations is handled by a separate entity: Studio Makyu Co., Ltd. This division of work ensures that each specialized area — whether it’s blockchain development or clinical research — gets the dedicated focus it needs. In the office, this separation is clear: the systems and setups here are geared toward business presentations, research coordination, and partner communications rather than coding or blockchain infrastructure work.

Ultimately, the Kiyan Medical workspace is designed around adaptability. The combination of portable and stationary tools, a fully cloud-based workflow, and powerful yet mobile hardware reflects a broader shift in how modern professionals can work effectively without being tied to traditional, fixed systems. It’s an environment that supports everything from investor meetings to international collaboration, without requiring a large physical footprint or heavy, specialized equipment. This raises a broader question to our readers and partners: in an age where technology allows us to work anywhere, with almost any resource at our fingertips, how do you work?
