We are pleased to announce the opening of our BASE shop, making it easier for customers to purchase 5-ALA supplements.

This shop has been created for those who are interested in 5-ALA, as well as for those who wish to support the diabetes research and social implementation initiatives being advanced by Biozipcode Inc. Our goal is to provide a clearer and more convenient way for people to take part in this initiative.

This BASE shop is also linked to the crowdfunding initiative “Supporters of Biozipcode”, operated by Studio Makyu Co.,Ltd.

“Supporters of Biozipcode” is a crowdfunding initiative established to support the business and research activities of Biozipcode Inc. Purchasing 5-ALA supplements is not only an opportunity to think about your own health, but also a way to support research, development, clinical studies, and business implementation aimed at bringing new approaches to diabetes treatment into society.

5-ALA, formally known as 5-aminolevulinic acid, is a naturally occurring amino acid that is also found in the human body. It is said to have existed for approximately 3.6 billion years, and is known to play an important role in energy production within the mitochondria of human and plant cells.

There have also been studies examining changes in blood glucose levels and blood glucose control when 5-ALA is taken together with iron. In a 12-week study involving participants with elevated blood glucose levels, intake of 5-ALA with iron was reported to show improvements in blood glucose-related markers, with a tendency toward better glucose control in groups that received higher amounts.

These findings suggest that 5-ALA may have potential as a new approach in the field of diabetes prevention and metabolic health.

We do not see diabetes simply as a disease that people must live with for life. Instead, we are pursuing the possibility that diabetes may one day be redefined as a disease that can be cured. To make that future possible, we need to move forward step by step across many areas, including research, clinical studies, diagnostic technologies, treatment development, business implementation, and international expansion.
